Abstract

Pesticidal or herbicidal composition in the form of a liquid concentrate of sodium pentachlorphenate comprises at least 20 per cent by weight of sodium pentachlorophenate dissolved in a solvent mixture comprising water and an organic solvent which is completely or at least substantially miscible with water, the organic solvent being itself a solvent for sodium pentachlorophenate. The solvent mixture may be a mixture of water and two or more individual organic solvents and preferably comprises water within the range of 95 to 25 per cent and the organic solvent within the range of 5 to 75 per cent by weight of the mixture. The organic solvent may be an aliphatic alcohol, e.g. ethyl methyl isopropyl, or a ketone, e.g. acetone, or a ketonic alcohol, e.g. diacetone alcohol.
