Abstract
An antiseptic preparation comprises a solution of urea, which may be present from 0.5 to 25 per cent by weight of the preparation, and zinc oxide which may be present in amount substantially sufficient to saturate the solution. An antiseptic acidic inorganic zinc salt, e.g. zinc chloride or sulphate, may also be present to alter the slightly basic nature of the preparation. The solvent may be water or an organic solvent non-deleterious to the skin, e.g. ethyl alcohol, glycerol.
