Class 43 In an expansible bracelet in which two layers of hollow members are arranged one above the other in staggered relationship and are articulately connected together by connecting members arranged within the body of the bracelet and projecting in pairs each through a transverse slot, from faces of the hollow members which are turned towards the other layer and each connecting member of each of the pairs engage in a tranverse slot in one of two adjacent hollow members of the other layer, the arrangement is such that each hollow member is provided with a central longitudinal slot in addition to at least one transverse slot and the connecting members each comprise bearing portions which project into the hollow member, which bearing portions can be inserted and removed when the bracelet is stretched, against a resilient action through the central longitudinal slot. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 2, 4 and 6, the box-shaped members 1, 1<SP>1</SP> are closed at each end and have longitudinal slot 3 and two transverse slots 4 in the face of the member facing towards the inside of the bracelet. Connecting members 5 of steel wire bent so that a central portion 5<SP>1</SP> protrudes out of one box member 1 or 1<SP>1</SP> to engage another box member 1<SP>1</SP> or 1 have their ends bent backwards and-downwards and so serve as spring to return the members 1, 1<SP>1</SP> to the position shown in Fig. 2 after the bracelet has been stretched. In the modification shown in Figs. 10, 12 and 13, the box members 2, 2<SP>1</SP> are open ended (but later sealed) and' connecting members 7 biased to the positions shown in Fig. 10 by springs 8 are located within the box members 2, 2<SP>1</SP> between the ends of the members 7. Only one slot 4 may be provided in the face of the box members. The slot 3 may extend between the two slots 4 or over the whole length of the box members. The connecting members 7 may be made in various configurations, Figs. 14-16 (not shown).
