Abstract

800,264. Securing members to shafts. BURROUGHS CORPORATION. March 5, 1956, No. 6918/56. Class 80 (2). A reel 6 is retained on a hub 9 by three L- shaped levers 12 under the action of leaf-springs 22. The levers are moved into a position to allow removal of the reel by pressing a push button 13 on a member 14 slidable on the hub shaft 32. When re-mounting the reel the latter engages the outer curved edges of the levers 12 to move these parts radially inwardly. A ring 38 of resilient material prevents play between the reel and hub and a pin 8 prevents relative rotation of the hub and reel. The invention is applicable to the reels of magnetic tape recording systems.
