Abstract
800,134. Cigarette cases. MOSDA, Ltd. Aug. 27, 1956 [Aug. 27, 1955], No. 24665/55. Class 18. A cigarette case comprising two halves 10, 11, the lid half 11 being slideable relative to the half 10 in its own plane, has a spring urged plate 22 for feeding cigarettes towards dispensing means, the plate being retracted by opening movement of the lid and being held retracted until released by the lid when the latter is substantially closed. The lid has lugs 26, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), which engage the front of the plate 22 to force it back until a spring member 29 mounted at its rear grips a projection 30 on the half 10 so as to retain the plate. When the lid is closed after charging the case, a projection 34 at its rear end pushes the member 29, free of the projection 30 to release the plate. The lid may be retained closed by co-operating deformations on the projections 30, 34. The dispensing device consists of a rotatable tubular member 40 open on one side. When the open side is inward, it receives a cigarette, the member then being rotated to bring the opening to the exterior to enable the cigarette to be removed. A spring plate 50 guides the cigarette to the dispenser. A case may be arranged to contain two or more rows of cigarettes, converging guides being provided to direct them to the dispenser.
