799,821. Universal joints. CAM GEARS, Ltd. Nov. 25, 1955 [Nov. 25, 1954], No. 34258/54. Class 80 (2). Hooke's joint forks 6, for a steering-column joint, are integral with their splined or plain hubs 2 and have inturned radial ends 7 which axially trap a slotted intermediate disc 3, over which the forks are assembled in planes at right angles, by either bending inwards fork parts of a malleable casting or by the use of hubs axially split in two parts each carrying a fork and bolted together about the coupled shaft. The forks 6 engage the disc slots 8. either directly or through a rubber lining 9.
