Abstract

A complete fertilizer composition contains 2 to 10 per cent of assimilable magnesia, a total nutrient content higher than 55 per cent, contains water soluble as well as citrate soluble phosphate components and has a ratio of N : P2O5 : K2O : MgO of 1 : 0,8-1,5 : 1,5-2,5 : 0,1 - 1,5. The magnesium may be supplied as calcined or hydrated ammonium magnesium phosphate or sulphate and the nitrogen component may be present as nitrate or ammonia. Examples relate to compositions containing potassium nitrate, ammonium magnesium phosphate and mono- or di-ammonium phosphate, ammonium sulphate and magnesium phosphate. The production of fertilizers from potassium phosphates, chlorides, sulphates, potassium ammonium phosphates, magnesium ammonium phosphates and magnesium phosphate are referred to.
