Abstract

798,900. Container closures. WILSON, W. S., CARABEL, M. A., and MALICK, D. M. Dec. 24, 1956 [Dec. 27, 1955], No. 39182/56. Class 125(3). A dispensing closure 10 consists of a cap member 12, screw-threaded for connection to a container and formed with a top 22 having a groove 26, an opening 32 surrounded by a sealing flange 34 and bearing openings 36 which receive shaft-like extensions of a spout part 14 having a passage 48 and rotatable about the extensions in groove 26 to align the passage 48 with opening 32 or close the opening by body part 40 which seals on both the flange 34 and a flat section 30 around it. A part 44 forms both a dust shield and a stop to limit rotation of the spout 14. In a modification, Fig. 8, the sealing flange 34 is omitted.
