Abstract

798,776. Cathode-ray tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Sept. 30, 1955 [Oct. 6, 1954], No. 27901/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1). [Also in Group XL(c)] Variation of focus with scan deflection in a cathode-ray tube is compensated by a sinusoidal compensating field generated by a circuit tuned to the scan frequency and coupled to the deflector coil or plate so that the circuit is excited by the flyback strokes of the deflection sawtooth waveform. For an electrostatically focused tube the tuned circuit is coupled to the normal focus electrode and for an electromagnetically focused tube, the coil of the tuned circuit may be arranged as an auxiliary focus coil, Fig. 3 (not shown).
