Abstract
797,717. Loading materials into storage chambers. ATKINSON BULK TRANSPORT CO. Oct. 30, 1956, No. 33126/56. Class 78 (4). A container such as a railroad car is filled from a conveying line through a spout 10 (Fig. 3), rotatably mounted in a lid 5 for mounting over an aperture in the container and formed at its lower end with a horizontal portion 13. In the form illustrated the spout is mounted in the lid 5 by a gland 20 and can be turned by handles 15, 16 when screws 19 securing it to a ring 17 supported by brackets 18 from the lid 5 are released. A sealing gasket 9 is provided between the vehicle 8 and the lid 5 which is secured by a triangular frame 22, 23, 24 (Fig. 2), overlying the lid 5 and secured by bolts 26 taking into slots 25.
