796,267. Aircraft undercarriages. BLACKBURN & GENERAL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., LAIGHT, B. P., HAND, P. G. E., and BARKER, T. Oct. 23, 1956, No. 32337/56. Class 4. An aircraft uudercarriage of the tandemwheel type housed within a nacelle 15 on a frame 1 consists of two arms 2, 3 each supporting a wheel or a pair of wheels 4 and each pivoted to the frame and connected intermediate their ends to shock absorbers 5, 6 respectively. The upper ends of the shock absorbers are connected respectively to arms 7 and 8 of bell-cranks which have other arms 9 and 10 connected by links 11 and 12 to a common retraction jack 14. The bell-cranks swing to an over-centre position when the undercarriage is lowered and doors 16 operated by members 17, 18 are provided on the nacelle.
