Class 126 .In gas cooker having a detachable one piece oven lining, the heat insulating packing surrounding the oven is held in place by a light framework secured to the cooker housing above and below the oven door. A gas cooker with a drop down oven door 4 has glass wool insulation 1 sandwiched between two layers of aluminium foil and held in place by a wire framework 7. The oven lining, Fig. 2, is provided with shelf support ledges 11 and has holes 9 to receive locating pins 10 provided on the rear wall of the housing. A rear slot 6 receives the burner, Fig. 3, which is provided with a shield 12. Combustion products escape through a slot 8 at the front of the upper wall of the lining and pass over a bimetallic thermostat mounted between the top wall of the lining and the top plate of the oven.
