Abstract

510,191. Electric ovens. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HUMPHREYS, O. W. Feb. 9, 1938, No. 4069. [Class 39 (iii)] One or more baffles are arranged over the element or elements of an electrically-heated oven, the said elements being arranged towards the bottom of the oven. The baffle comprises a shallow V-shaped member 1 and side members 2 rigidly secured thereto. Warm air rises along the channels formed by the underside of member 1 and the walls 2, cooler air enters under the lower edges of the side members, the said lower edges being spaced from the lower wall of the oven. In a modification, only one inclined plate is used. The surfaces of the members are reflecting, and reflectors may be placed near the baffle in order to reduce radiation-losses.
