Abstract
792,957. Tubular electric lamps. RIST, D. A. V. July 14, 1954, No. 12775/55. Dividred out of 792,956. Class 39(2) [Also in Group XL(a)] A tubular electric lamp, particularly a flourescent lamp, has terminals located at an intermediate or central point(s) of the length of the lamp and has an envelope which, apart from the terminals, is of smooth cylindrical form both internally and externally, the terminals being connected to electrodes at the lamp ends by conductors laid against a smooth cylindrical part of the envelope. In the example shown in Fig. 1 the leads 17<SP>1</SP>, having transparent insulation, from the electrodes, are attached by adhesive to the outside of the envelope 11 parallel to its axis and connected to a terminal mounting 18 stuck to the envelope wall and attachable to a coupling plug 13. In Fig. 2 internal wires 20 from the electrodes are connected to the mounting 18 having contact pins 19. In Fig. 3 the leads 22, having transparent insulation, from the , electrodes to the mounting 18, are located between the envelope 11, and an outer transparent envelope 21. The lamps can be used with mountings and carriers described in Specification 792,956.
