Abstract
792,209. Knitting-machines. ZAPADOMORAVSKE STROJIRNY NARODNI PODNIK. Dec. 16, 1955 [Dec. 24, 1954], No. 36220/55. Class 74 (2). The catch-bar for a straight-bar machine is composed of a sinker advancing bar 7 and a sinker retracting bar 14 which is attached to arms 13 pivotally mounted as at 12 on the bar 7. The arms 13 carry rollers 16 engaging in the fork 18 of levers 19 mounted on the shaft 20 controlling the jack springs. The forward movement of the bars 7, 14 is imparted by a cam on the cam-shaft through bearings 21 ... 24 the lever 21 of which is secured to bar 7. During this advancement the levers 19 hold the bar 14 raised to enable it to clear the butts of the sinkers and prior to the withdrawal of the bars 7, 14 the bar 14 is lowered under the control of levers 19 and shaft 20 to engage the sinker butts, whereby the sinkers may be withdrawn.
