Abstract

791,480. Wet spinning of yarns. MACKIE & SONS, Ltd., J. June 15, 1956 [July 7, 1955], No. 19684/55. Class 120(2) A cover 15 is fitted between the tops of the wharves 7 and the underside of the ring rail 1 in a ring spinning frame to prevent water and any accompanying oil from dripping on to the driving tapes 6 and to lead it away to a point or points where it will not soil the operator. The cover has a sloping portion 16 leading into a gutter portion.18 and an upturned lip 17 at the rear. There is also an upturned lip around each hole where a spindle passes through, these holes being of keyhole shape to permit the placing of the cover in position. The cover is arranged in separate lengths a space being left between adjacent lengths to allow liquid collected in the gutter portions to drain away. Specification 737,197 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
