Abstract
790.983. Mineral-mining machines. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI. GEB. Sept. 5, 1956 [Oct. 14, 1955], No. 27120/56. Class 68(1) In each end of a winch housing 2 of a mineral-mining machine is supported a spindle on which is mounted for rotation about the axis of the spindle 5 a pair of arms 11, 12 carrying a cutter unit comprising a motor 10 secured between said arms 11. 12 and a cutter drum 3 rotatably mounted in the arm 12 and driven from the output shaft of the motor through step down gearing situated within the drum. The arms 11, 12 are pivoted about the axis of the spindle 5 by horizontally movable pistons 8 disposed within the housing 2. The shaft of the motor is eccentrically disposed of the spindle of the drum and the drums 3 are so driven as to be contrarily rotating. A conveyer 15 disposed between the drums is driven from the winch motor that drives a sprocket engaging a fixed chain extending along a mineral face. Specification 704,681 is referred to.
