Abstract
790,147. Abrasive tools. FLEXTOL ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Oct. 12, 1956 [Oct. 12, 1955], No. 29103/55. Class 60. A device for attaching a grinding wheel 13 to the flange 1 of a rotary tool comprises a circular plate 9 which is provided with a peripheral flange 8, a central dished portion, a central aperture and one or more eccentric holes in the dished portion for engagement with complementary eccentrically-arranged protrusions on the flange. The central aperture may be of triangular shape for engagement by three pins 3 on the flange 1, and when one eccentric hole is provided in the plate, this is engaged by a pin 6 on the flange. The flange 1 is mounted on the screw-threaded end of the tool shaft 2 which projects through the triangular aperture so as to permit the mounting of the plate 9 by means of a nut 11 and washer 12. The end of the shaft 2 and the back of the nut 11 do not project beyond the edge of the lip 8. The grinding wheel 13 is bonded to the shot-blasted face 7 of the plate 9 by adhesive under heat and pressure.
