Abstract
788,251. Pneumatic separators. CIMENTS D'OBOURG SOC. ANON. Sept. 26, 1955 [Oct. 26, 1954], No. 27332/55. Class 117 Cement is cooled by an air separator of known type provided with water cooled walls down which the cement falls in a thin layer. The cement, after leaving a grinding mill, is fed on to a rotating platform 3 and then thrown towards a watercooled wall 7, and the larger particles flow downwardly against this wall and watercooled walls 10 and 11 to a shoot 14. Blades 5 on the platform produce an upward air stream which carries the finer particles upwardly and then downwardly between the water-cooled walls 7 and 8, and these particles pass down the water-cooled wall 9 to a shoot 13. The air stream flows through guide vanes 12 and ascends in a closed circuit towards the blades 5. Interconnected water jackets cool the walls and are supplied with cold water through a pipe 18. Heated water leaves from valve controlled outlets 19 and 20.
