Abstract

787,171. Flexible conduits; expansion joints. POWER AUXILIARIES, Ltd. June 27, 1956 No. 19869/66. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). A conduit 10 comprises a fluid-impervious, flexible outer wall 12 having an inner surface which is undulating, rough, irregular or convoluted, and a fluid-pervious, flexible, inner wall 22 composed of a number of braided strands and which minimises turbulence and pressure drop in the conduit. As shown, tubing 12 of sheet metal or synthetic plastic and provided with annular, spiral or helical corrugations 14, has cylindrical stubs 16 to which are secured sleeves 20 mounting flanges 18. The lining 22 of braided or woven wires or natural or synthetic fibres is secured within the tubing by sleeves 26.
