Abstract
786,961. Level-luffing jib cranes. ETABLISSEMENTS CAILLARD ET CIE. Oct. 1, 1954 [April 12, 1954], No. 28406/54. Class 78 (4). The levelling jib 4 of a level luffing crane is turned by a link 31 of constant length. In the construction illustrated, the jib is balanced by a cable connected to a weight 25 which may move in a path other than the vertical shown. Alternatively, the counterweight may be carried by a lever pivoted to the superstructure of the crane and connected to the jib by a link. The jib is luffed by a screw jack 14. Specification 3658/09, [Glass 78], is referred to.
