Abstract

786,862. Rivets, stud and socket fastenings. OXLEY, R. F. March 6, 1956 [March 11, 1955], No. 7267/55. Classes 44 and 89(1) [Also in Groups XXII and XXXVI] A fitting suitable for use as a terminal mounting on a radio chassis comprises a bush 11 of deformable material (e.g. P.T.F.E.) which is inserted into an apertured plate 12 and a spigot 10 which has an enlarged portion 16 so that on pushing the spigot through the bore of the bush the enlarged portion 16 expands the projecting part of the bush 22 and prevents withdrawal and a second enlarged portion 17 which prevents the spigot being pushed too far. Leads may be soldered to the ends 13, 15 of the spigot. Alternatively only the end 15 may be used, the. end 22 of the bush being blanked off. The spigot may be of circular cross-section or may be stamped from sheet metal.
