Abstract
<PICT:0786833/IV (b)/1> A decatizing machine comprises a series of decatizing cylinders such as 2, 21 and 211 mounted within a casing 3 connected to a vacuum pipe 4, and a perforated drum 5 having solid end walls connected via pipes 8, 9 to a source of vacuum pressure which may be independent of the vacuum in the casing 3 and causes ambient air to pass through the porous conveyer belt 16 and drum 5 to dry the fabric, the belt 16 moving in the direction of the arrow f and carrying the fabric from a supply 17a around the cylinders 2 and drum 5 to either a take-off roller 13 or to a delivery roller 15. The cylinders 2 are supplied with steam which may be variable both in quantity and temperature from one cylinder to the next.
