Abstract
784,779. Making rotor spiders for dynamoelectric machines. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. June 1, 1956 [June 18, 1955], No. 16944/56. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXXV] A dynamo-electric machine rotor spider consists of a number of thick rectangular sheets 1 each of which along one side is welded to the side of its adjacent sheet with the sheets arranged in such a way that parts 3 of the sheets between the welded joints 2 form a hub in the shape of polygonal section tube and the other parts 4 of the sheets form arms extending from the tube for carrying an armature, not shown. As shown, the hub is turned internally to fit a shaft 5 upon which it is mounted and to which it is secured against relative rotation by a key 6. The arms which preferably leave the hub tangentially are turned at their ends remote from the hub to fit the inside of the annular armature core. The spider is applicable to mounting the rotor of a direct-coupled exciter of a large electric generator.
