Classes 79(1) and 79(2) [Also in Group XXIV] In a tractor having a hydraulic power lift system including a pump 11 and a rearwardly directed power take-off shaft 86 having a splined portion 86A for coupling to external apparatus, the drive of the pump 11 and shaft 86 includes a clutch which can disengage the drive from both the pump 11 and shaft 86 or only from the shaft 86, or can engage the drive to both the pump 11 and shaft 86. As shown the tractor transmission comprises a dual clutch (see Group XXIV), a hollow shaft 26, a change speed gear 8, a differential gear 65, the output shafts of which carry pinions 66 meshing with gears 67 on wheel carrying shafts 68. The dual clutch is adapted to transmit drive to either a power take-off shaft 27 or both to the wheels and the shaft 27 which extends through the input shaft of the change speed gear and carries at its rear end a slidable gear wheel 71 which is movable under the control of a hand lever 79 through a rod into three positions. The three positions correspond to (1) engagement with both an internally toothed member 88 and a gear wheel 70, (2) engagement with only the gear wheel 70 and (3) disengagement from both the member 88 and the gear wheel 70. The gear wheel 70 is carried by the shaft of the pump 11 which can supply pressurized oil drawn from a sump 6A beneath the change speed gear 8 to the ram 22 of the hydraulic power lift system. The member 88 is integral with the power take-off shaft 86 carrying a pinion 87 meshing with a gear 92 on a sleeve 91 which is internally splined to receive a removable adaptor 93 externally splined for power take-off connection. Thus the shaft 86 and adaptor 93 give power takeoff connections at different speeds. The shaft 86 and sleeve 91 are rotatably mounted in plates 81, 82 detachably secured to an aperture in the casing 9. Removable covers 95, 94 are provided on the plate 81 for the members 86, 93.
