[Also in Group XXXIX] The front of a loud-speaker is loaded by an acoustic resistance and an acoustic mass in parallel. The acoustic resistance 3 may consist of a layer of cloth which may be supported by wire or a perforated metal sheet. An opening 4 in the sheet 3 acts as acoustic mass. In Fig. 4 the acoustic mass is formed by an auxiliary diaphragm 41 close to the loud-speaker diaphragm, openings 3<SP>1</SP> covered with cloth forming the acoustic resistance.
