782,562. Boots. WEGNER, T. O. June 3, 1955 [Sept. 17, 1953], No. 25773/53. Class 17(2) The upper of a rubber-soled boot, more particularly for sports wear, includes a tubular portion 3 of elastic material of woven or knitted character with the weft threads of cotton and warp threads of rubber or the like, to embrace the lower part of the leg and ankle of the wearer, and also a portion 4 over the instep. It may be in one or more parts. It is sewn to a part 2 of elastic or non-elastic material at 5. Pads 11, 12 thereon may reinforce the upper. Stiffening strips 7-9 may be provided and a rib 6 may be formed at the top of the tubular part. The lower part of the upper may be of leather or other non- elastic material.
