Abstract

780,454. Electromagnetic interrupters. ERICSSON TELEPHONES, Ltd., and HALLAM, T. W. M. June 24, 1955, No. 18266/55. Class 38 (5). An interrupter comprising an armaturecarrying reed 5 vibrated by attraction of the armature 4 to a pole-piece 3 under the control of a contact spring 21 on the armature co-operating with a fixed contact 22, the reed also carrying spring arm mounted contacts 6 co-operating with contacts 9 on springs 8, includes a pair of insulating spacers 10, each spacer serving to space the root ends of the reed and a spring 8 and having an upward extension a bearing against the free end of the spring 8 to determine the position of the latter when not engaged by a contact 6. A surface c on the extension a engages the spring 8 and a pair of surfaces c may be provided side-by-side for use with interrupters having twin contacts (Fig. 2, not shown), and the two surfaces may be at different levels for sequential operation.
