Abstract
Heat resisting alloys have compositions within the following range: C 0.2-0.6 per cent, Mn 0.5-1.5 per cent, Si 0.3-0.6 per cent, Co 45.0-70.0 per cent, Cr 15.0-22.0 per cent, W 2.0-6.0 per cent, Mo 2.0-6.0 per cent, Nb and/or Ta 1.0-6.0 per cent, B 0-0.05 per cent, N 0-0.1 per cent, Ce 0-1.0 per cent, Fe, and the usual impurities, the remainder. The alloy may also contain one or more of Al, Be, Ti, V, Ca and Mg up to 1.0 per cent in total. The alloy may be solution treated in the range 1150 DEG C.-1300 DEG C. and then warm worked in the range 500 DEG C.-900 DEG C., e.g. to the extent of 3-15 per cent reduction in thickness. The Provisional Specification describes also alloys within the following range: C 0.2-1.0 per cent, Mn 0.2-2.0 per cent, Si 0.3-2.0 per cent, Co 40.0-70.0 per cent, Cr 15.0-25.0 per cent, W 1.0-6.0 per cent, Mo 1.0-6.0 per cent, Nb and/or Ta 1.0-6.0 per cent, B 0-0.1 per cent, N 0-0.2 per cent, Ce 0-1.0 per cent, Fe, and impurities, the remainder with or without one or more of Al, Be, Ti, V, Ca, Mg up to 1.0 per cent in total.
