Abstract

779,848. Oil-fired furnaces. BURGER EISENWERKE GES. July 26, 1955 [Aug. 21, 1954], No. 21590/55. Class 51 (1). The oil-fired furnace shown in plan view, comprising juxtaposed combustion chamber 1 and fuel storage tank 5 in the one furnace shell 3, has, associated with the chamber 1, a burner 6, a flue outlet 7 and vertical hollow air-heating shafts 8, 9, the former of which shields, to some extent, the tank 5 from combustion heat. The flue outlet 7 is provided in an extension 10. A flap valve 12 arranged in association with a partition 11 is provided such that it may be moved to either of the positions shown in Figs. 1 and 2 thus directing the combustion gases straight to the outlet, Fig. 1, or passing them around the shaft 9, Fig. 2.
