Abstract
779,098. Jigging conveyers. CARRIER CONVEYER CORPORATION. Feb. 2, 1955, No. 3042/55. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXXII] The trough of a jigging conveyer is mounted on resilient mountings (see Group XXXII) which comprise blocks of rubber 224 (Fig. 47) in each of which is embedded a rigid strut. The latter is inclined at an angle to the vertical, and to the direction of movement of the trough which is divided longitudinally at 226, 226 into sections 221, 222, 223. The joint between adjacent sections is supported and sealed by longitudinal rubber strips 226a in each case. A modified form of connection between adjacent sections of the trough is shown in Fig. 29. The trough is vibrated by the action of a motordriven eccentric (not shown). In Fig. 34 a single unitary trough 173 is employed. The trough part is disposed between the resilient mountings 170, 171 in order to economize in height. A second conveyer of the construction shown in Fig. 34 may be mounted above a first conveyer of the same construction (Fig. 42, not shown) and may be driven by respective eccentrics on a common motor-driven shaft. In a further modification (Fig. 33, not shown) a single unitary resilient mounting extends the whole width of the base of the trough. A turnbuckle link may be connected between the trough and base of the conveyer adjacent each mounting, to ensure that the mounting will not be subjected to tension (Fig. 22, not shown).
