Abstract
778,461. induction motors. KOLLSMAN INSTRUMENT CORPORATION. April 26, 1955 [Sept. 1, 1954], No. 12007/55. Class 35. A two-phase induction motor or generator, for use as a servomotor &c., has continuously energized main windings 11, control quadrature windings 14 supplied with or generating signal current of variable magnitude and phase sense connected to a source or receiver 15, and an additional, quadrature winding 17 fed through a high resistance 18 from the main source and serving to balance any parasitic quadrature flux. The energization of the auxiliary winding may be such as to prevent creeping of the rotor 10 or signal in the control winding at zero control signal or zero speed, to give equal response in either direction, or to produce a more sensitive response in either direction.
