Abstract

778,420. Reciprocating pumps. MEYLAN & FILS. V., and TREY, J. P. De. Dec. 20, 1954 [May 11, 1954], No. 36777/54. Class 102(1) Apparatus for delivering oil comprises a capillary delivery tube 3 which is attached to a flexible chamber 5 secured to a member 9. A valve stem 7 is pressed by a spring 10 against a member 4 secured to the tube 3 and has formed on it a cylindrical valve seat 7a sliding in a bore in the member 9 and also having a head 7b which presses a resilient washer 8 against a seat 9b on the member 9. When the tube 3 is pressed against the part to be lubricated, the chamber 5 is deformed and nil is delivered until the valve seat 7a emerges from the bore in the member 9. On the return stroke, caused by the spring 10, oil flows from a container through the bore until the valve closes when a depression is formed in the chamber 5 to prevent drip or withdraw any excess oil supplied.
