Abstract
777,862. Dispensing measured quantities of liquid. ELLIOTT, Ltd., H. J. Nov. 9, 1955 [Nov. 9, 1954], No. 32435/54. Class 106 (5). A liquid dispenser comprises a deformable liquid reservoir 2, a delivery container 1, and a supply pipe 3, the outlet 13 of the latter being adjustable in relation to the container 1 to a predetermined level, and the arrangement being such that the reservoir 2 may be subjected to deforming pressure to force liquid therefrom into the delivery container to a level above the outlet 13, whereupon the pressure can be released to permit the liquid to return to the reservoir until the level in the container corresponds to the level of the outlet, whereby a predetermined amount of liquid is retained in the container 1 for dispensing therefrom. The container 1 may have a spout 9 with a small aperture 10 or an open mouth in which part of the lip is pinched for pouring. It may also be bottle shaped and is fitted with a sleeve 5 which is resilient or lined with resilient material to engage the pipe 3 so that it remains in the position to which it is adjusted on the latter. The reservoir 2 and a cap 4 may be of polythene.
