A rotary plug valve 1 controls the supply of spraying medium from a tank 28 to spray devices such that in one position of the valve the devices are fed from a pump supply pipe 7 via the valve and a feed pipe 10, and in another position the spray medium is diverted through an ejector or venturi tube and draws the medium from the devices and returns it to the tank. The valve casing, Fig. 2, has ports 2, 3 connected to the supply pipe 7 and feed pipe 10 respectively, which ports, by rotation of the valve plug 20, are interconnected to supply the spray devices. A nozzle 12, which enters the mouth of a venturi tube 13 constituting a return pipe, is connected to a port 4, and a drain pipe 17 connects with a port 5 and with the suction space of the tube 13. In the other position of the valve plug, i.e. as shown in Fig. 2, the spray medium passes through the nozzle 12 and tube 13 and draws spray medium from the spray devices via the pipes 10 and 17. The valve plug, Fig. 3, has transverse ports 21, 22, rubber packing rings 23, 24, and a handle 25. A filter comprising a vessel 26 fitted with a gauze cup 27 is arranged in the return pipe. A multi-way cock 29 is fitted in the pump suction pipe 30 and is connected by a pipe 31 to a barrel 32 containing spraying medium so that the tank may be charged from the barrel by the pump 8. The return pipe extends to near the bottom of the tank to-effect agitation of any sediment. Specifications 677,655 and 718,847 are referred to.
