Abstract

776,713. Expansion joints. SERVICED PRODUCTS CORPORATION. July 28, 1955 [Oct. 1, 1954], No. 21835/55. Class 20(4) A connector 15, Fig. 3, for joining the end portions of a pair of flexible waterstops 10, 11, bridging a joint 14, Fig. 2, between construction members 12, 13, comprises a flexible hollow shell having sockets 15a to receive the end portions and provided with thin side walls overlapping relatively large areas of the waterstops. The sockets 15a which are of similar cross-section to the waterstops 10, 11, are separated by a transverse web which is moulded integrally with the remainder of the rubber connector. In joining the waterstops 10, 11 by the connector 15, the contacting surfaces are coated with a natural or synthetic rubber cement or a rubberasphalt-oil composition.
