Abstract

1394277 Frame joints NEDERLANDSE METAALINDUSTRIE POLYNORM NV 5 May 1972 [28 Sept 1971] 20925/72 Heading E1J A mitred joint between frame members 1, 1a is bridged by a flat plate 26 lying flush with the frame's side flanges 19, the plate having recesses 27, 29 in opposite ends thereof, the former of which receives projections 23, 23a from said flanges, on either side of the joint and the latter recess bearing against the frame surface 18, 18a whereby the plate is compressed between the lugs and frame surface to thereby urge the projections towards each other. A resilient member 29 bridges the joint and is interposed between said frame surface and the recess 29. Further plates 20, 22a having interengaging teeth 24, 25 may be welded to the flanges 19. The frame members may, as shown be channel sectioned with flat plates on each side flange 3, 19 or they may be L-sectioned with one plate adjacent the flange.
