Class 8(1) In a hermetically sealed gas compressor apparatus having a compressor with a piston 30 driven by an electric motor 59 and an outer casing consisting of two sections 11, 12 of unequal depth, one section 11 forming the housing for the motor and compressor and the other (12) completing the mounting and sealing of the motor and compressor, each section is provided with two thimbles 18, 19 respectively which engage, externally, four compression springs 16 and internally two suspension spindles 20, the springs being housed horizontally in lugs 15 on the main casting 17 ot the compressor, which lugs provide for suspension and resilient mounting of the motor and compressor assembly by means of springs 23. A multiple bladed impeller 41 is attached to the end of the motor shaft 26 for cooling purposes. , Oil enters an opening 36 by vortex action into scrolls 37 in the shaft 26 and by channelways to all moving parts. Suction vapours enter the compressor through suction silencer chamber 43 and after compression are discharged through silencer 47. Specification 697,420 [Group XXXVI] is referred to.
