775,758. Hand-tool handles. McCAMMOND, A. N. W. Oct. 5, 1954 [July 9, 1953], No. 19095/53. Class 61 [Also in Group XIV] A detachable handle for a hand-tool comprises a stock incorporating two spaced steel plates 2. a steel lever 5 pivoted within the stock at 4 and spring pressed so as to lie flush with one edge, the opposite edge and one end of the stork being open and the lever having parts extending one towards the open edge and the other towards the open end of the stock, the said parts each comprising a tooth-like abutment as at 11, 13 which in normal position of the lever are spaced from pins 9, 10 respectively to allow a tool 19 to be snapped into one of two positions on the handle. Wooden or other cheeks are fitted to the plates 2. Tools for use with the handle are each provided with a flat circular head 17 having a notch 18 at each side to engage with the pins and abutments. The tool is released by, finger pressure on the non-abutmented end of the lever 5 at the finger recess 14.
