Abstract

A padding material for orthopaedic and chiropodial use consists of a layer of felt coated on one side with a layer of expanded rubber which may be porous or non-porous and optionally on the other with a layer of a zinc oxide pressure sensitive adhesive. Coating of the rubber layer may be effected with a vulcanizable foam rubber latex produced as described in Specification 702,335 [Group VIII]. The felt may be of white merino wool and/or of synthetic fibre, e.g. ground nut ("Ardil" Registered Trade Mark), or rayon fibre. The adhesive coating is protected by layer of gauze before use.
