Abstract

772,123. Collars for personal wear. CLUETT, PEABODY & CO., INC. Sept. 22, 1955, No. 27124/55. Class 141. In a one-piece collar comprising one-piece back and face plies with a co-extensive interliner therebetween, the interliner is formed in .two sections 6, 7 secured together by a line of stitching 9, the edge of one section 6 being turned over at 8 so as to provide three superposed layers at the overlap of the sections. A parallel line of stitching 16 secures the interliner plies together and to the back ply 4 and preferably also to the face ply 3. The turned-over edge 8 may extend beyond the edge of the other section 7. In a modification, Fig. 18 (not shown), a flexible cord 17 is placed within the turned-over edge 8. The interliner section 6 in the cape portion of the collar may include cellulose acetate yarns to form a fused collar.
