Abstract
771,521. Reservoir pens. ROLLRITE PLASTICS, Ltd. Oct. 13, 1955 [July 13, 1955], No. 20235/55. Class 146(3). A writing instrument comprises a casing 10, 11 housing a renewable ball-point pen refill 14 capable of free movement between a position wherein the refill is contained wholly within the casing and a position wherein the writing tip 13 projects from the casing, and a locking means 15 which co-operates with the refill 14 to prevent its free movement when the refill is positioned so that the writing tip 13 projects from the casing. The locking means consists of a slidable stud 15 provided with an inclined face 17 which engages the rear end of the refill to lock it in writing position. The stud has an enlarged head 16 which is limited in its downward movement by the end of a sleeve 18 through which the stud 15 can slide. Inversion of the casing from the position shown permits retraction of the refill.
