Abstract
769,154. Pneumatic separators. CARBORUNDUM CO. May 11, 1955 [July 7, 1954], No. 13621/55. Class 117 Also in Group IX] A gaseous stream containing fibres and unfiberized material from fiberizing means 21 enters a cylindrical separating chamber 22 at 23 and strikes a conical or like baffle 27 whereby the unfiberized material is thrown out of suspension and leaves the chamber from an annular outlet 26. A circumferential exhaust port in the chamber wall is connected by conduits 30, 38 and a fibre collector chamber 31 to a suction blower 33, and when the fibreladen stream strikes the baffle its direction is reversed and the stream flows along the chamber wall and is drawn into the collector chamber. The fibres are collected on a foraminous conveyer 32 which passes through the chamber 31, and are delivered to a bin 35. Specification 671,149, [Group XXIII], is referred to.
