Abstract

768,606. Nasal clamps. AUFRICHT, G. April 15, 1955 [April 15, 1954; May 20, 1954], No. 10880/55. Class 81(2) A nose-shaping device is so fromed as to apply pressure to selected points on the nose without gripping it. Preferably the appliance is made as a pair of spectacles having a bridge-piece 15 from which supports 18, 18a extend so as to carry pressure pads 50, 51, 52. The natural resilience of the bridge may be increased by a spring 24 of adjustable tension so as to draw the pads 50, 51 together but a stop for the inward movement may be provided by an adjustable screw 30 or by a telescopic tube, Fig. 14 (not shown), fitted on the upper bend of the bridge-piece to limit the inward bending thereof. If the pressure is mainly on one side of the nose the reaction may be taken by temporal pads 72 fitted to the side members of the spectacles. In a modified form the pressure is to some extent produced by the use of weights attached to various parts of the spectacle frame.
