Abstract

767,467. Machine-tool details. OPEL AKT.- GES., A. Feb. 23, 1955 [Feb. 26, 1954], No. 5359/55. Class 83 (3). A conveyer for feeding work to a succession of machine-tools comprises at least one carriage 1 mounted on a pair of rails 6, 6<SP>1</SP>, and a shaft 7 carrying projections 8 which by rotation of the shaft engage the carriage and by axial movement advance it, the carriage having rail-engaging elements 5, 5<SP>1</SP> at the top such that tools may enter the carriage below the rails. The carriage is advanced on slides or rolls 5, 5<SP>1</SP> and the projections 8 on the shaft engage between lugs 9, 9<SP>1</SP> on the carriage. The shaft is rotated to disengage the projections 8 and returned axially between each advance of the carriages. Swarf falls through an opening 2 in the bottom of the carriage on to a conveyer belt or a shaking channel.
