Abstract

766,661. Pressure-regulating valves. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Jan. 22, 1954 [Feb. 5, 1953], No. 2020/54. Class 135. A pressure-regulating valve particularly for controlling the pressure of air supplied to a gas turbine engine of a kind used as an engine starter comprises a slidable cylindrical valve closure member 17 with V-shaped openings 19 and connected by a rod 15 to a piston 16 which is spring loaded so as to urge the narrower part of the V-shaped openings into an inlet chamber 9. Outlet pressure acts in the closing sense on the piston 16. The valve member has a guide 20 slidable in a counterbore 12 in the inlet chamber. Sealing rings 18, 20A are mounted on the piston and guide piece, and vents 13, 23 are provided from the outer sides of those members.
