Abstract

766,472. Tape dispensers: OFREX, Ltd. July 18, 1955 [July 23, 1954; Feb. 24, 1955], Nos. 21621/54 and 5608/55. Class 18. A cutting unit, Fig. 2, for a tape dispenser having a spindle 2 for rotatably supporting a spool A of tape, comprises a support 102, 11 adapted to receive a blade 13 into contact with which the tape may be brought to sever it, and an element, e.g. a resilient tongue 15, arranged to shield the cutting edge of the blade 13 and adapted to be depressed by the tape to allow the tape to contact the cutting edge. A piece of sheet metal 10 is pressed to form the tongue 15 and the support for the blade and is fixed to the front 6 of the dispenser, the front of the support, Fig. 1 being formed in two triangular parts 11 for ease of replacement of the blade, each part having a protruberance 12 to grip the blade.
