Abstract
762,101. Knitting machines. MONK (SUTTON IN ASHFIELD), Ltd., S. A. Sept. 6, 1954 [Sept. 4, 1953], No. 24571/53. Class 74 (2). The loop transfer points of a multi-division machine are divided into two separately mounted sets formed respectively by groups 1, 101 of points; and filling-up points 3, 103, associated, one with each group, are correspondingly arranged as two separately mounted sets which are operable manually, either together or individually. The filling-up points are mounted, through connections 8, 9, respectively, on rods 6, 7, linked through levers and spindles 10, 27, 12 and 11, 28, 13, to members 25, 26, in slots 23, 24 of which moves a pin 22 constantly reciprocated from the main camshaft and which can be linked to either or both of members 25, 26 by spring returned catches 29, 30, rocked by manually controlled spring returned rockers 31, 32. The manual control comprises a shaft 41 which extends the length of the machine, is rotated by means of a suitably labelled, preferably centrally disposed, hand grips and bears for each pair of rockers 31, 32, a cam 40 so shaped that successive rotations through 90 degrees will render both catches 29, 30 idle, both operative, and each, in turn, operated alone. An indexing device 42a, 43 is provided.
