Abstract

761,640. Suction cleaners. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 19, 1954 [Dec. 10, 1953], No. 33542/54. Class 8(1) A converter for attachment to the suction nozzle of a handle propelled type vacuum cleaner comprises a dished tray 23 bounded by a rectangular plane surface 24 adapted to surround the suction mouth of the cleaner and provided with locating lugs 39 and a spring 41 engagable with the inner edge of the suction mouth; a shaft ha,ving an operating handle 52 at one end and a loop 56 at the other is rotatably mounted in the opposite edge of the tray and on rotation the loop 56 may be brought into engagement with the inner edge of the suction mouth. The tray 23 is formed with two lobed depressions 27 which merge to a common outlet 29 having a hose connection 32. A supporting wheel 61 is provided on the.converter.
