Abstract
761,204. Sewing-machines. SOC. INTERNATIONALE DE FINANCE. Oct. 25, 1954 [Oct. 28, 1953], No. 30606/54. Class 112. A needle holder for a sewing machine comprises a sleeve 6 securable to the needle bar 1, and a clamping member 8 removable from the sleeve while the latter is so secured and replaceable by an alternative clamping member, so that the holder can be used to hold one or more flat shank needles, if desired. The sleeve is secured to the needle bar by a screw 7, and a needle 4 is pressed against the vertical surface 2 of a notch formed in the lower end of the needle bar, clamping pressure being applied to member 8 by a screw 12. Member 8 may have one needle-receiving groove or two or more grooves spaced at the required distance apart.
